Feeding & Oral Motor Therapy

Your First Appointment

What to Expect

Andrea takes time to understand what feeding looks like for your baby and your family. No rushing, no dismissing what you are experiencing. Sessions are available at our King St. West clinic.

Your session includes:

  • Oral motor assessment (how your baby’s tongue, jaw, and lips are moving and coordinating)
  • Feeding observation (breast, bottle, or solids depending on your baby’s age)
  • Assessment of oral habits and patterns (tongue position, breathing, how the mouth rests)
  • A clear explanation of what Andrea is finding and why it matters
  • A treatment plan with specific goals
  • Strategies you can use at home between sessions
  • Collaboration with our CST practitioners when bodywork is part of the picture

What we can help with:

How does it feel?

Treatment Style

  • Warm and unhurried. Your baby sets the pace. Sessions are calm and responsive.
  • Whole body perspective. How your baby feeds is connected to how their body is functioning. Andrea looks at the full picture.
  • Clear explanations. You will understand what is happening and why, not just what to do.
  • Parent partnership. You are part of every session. Andrea equips you with tools you can use at home.
  • Play based. For toddlers, therapy feels like connection, not work.

Why Combine SLP with CST?

When a baby experiences the forces of labor, their body can hold tension in the jaw, palate, and tongue. A vacuum assisted delivery, forceps, a long pushing stage, or a rapid birth can leave compression patterns that directly affect how a baby feeds.

Andrea addresses how the mouth is functioning. Our CST practitioners release the tension in the body that may be limiting that function. When both are working together, families often see faster and more lasting results.

This is what makes MyBaby different. Your baby does not need appointments at three different clinics. Feeding therapy and craniosacral therapy happen under the same roof, with a team that communicates and collaborates on your baby’s care.
